It wasn't long ago that Carowinds finished off the track for their world record breaking coaster, Fury 325. Now it's all in the details as the opening day speeds towards us and I gotta say that it's going to be one helluva thing to behold once everything is finished. We've got all kinds of things for your this time around too; from what the ride entrance will look like, some amazing night shots of the ride, and most importantly, how you can get yourself onto the very first train of riders. So, sit back and let's get this show moving!
Of course, the prizes for the highest bids aren't just seats on the ride, oh no. Here's the breakdown of the full list of prizes that winning bidders will receive:
- Invitation to the private media opening for Fury 325 for one (1) person on Wednesday, March 25, 2015* to ride in the seat you bid on.
- Two (2) Regular Single Day admission tickets valid any public operating day of the 2015 season.
- One (1) Large Fury 325 First Rider Charity Auction T-shirt.
- One (1) Fury 325 First Rider Auction Hat.
Now, let's get down to the details of what's been going. We've compiled a ton that's come out from the park over the last week or so regarding the construction and take a sneak peek at the designs for some of the off ride elements like the entrance, sign and more. Let's start with the end of that and work our way back some, shall we?
So, there's the concepts and design layouts for Fury 325's sign and by the looks of it, it's going to be a thing to behold during the day and night. Cedar Fair has really stepped up their game in this department lately and can't wait to see the finished product in person!
The one thing that does seem to be a little odd is the fact that the color scheme doesn't seem to fully fit the rides own. I'm not sure why that is, but maybe it'll all be in how they light thing up. However, they pull it off, really looking forward to it (in case you hadn't guessed).
So, once past the sign, we get into the whole entrance area and that means we've got some more design drawings for ya. Of course, as you'll see below, that means incorporating more of the "hive theme" into things and gotta say, really love the premise behind this one as it just fits with the ride as a whole too.
One thing that you can probably notice, the ride's color scheme is in full force on this one and that's a great thing to see. I'm sure it'll all flow together with the whole new ride plaza that will accompany as well.
Really love the asymmetrical design and easy to understand signage on this one. It's going to be pretty hard to get confused about where you have to be on this one and that's always a great thing to see parks paying attention to.
And, by the looks of the photo here, it also seems like they've been putting the additional trains on the track as well. Again, a great sign that things are coming together in the final stages of preparation. I'd imagine they want to have all three trains on to test all of the safety systems from block brakes to restraints and other measures that are built into the system. That said, always good to see more steps towards the final product in the end!
Now, time to get onto the real fun and see just what this madness looks like at night! Seriously, this thing is gonna be incredible to ride in the dark and there's no way you're going to miss it. Some people say they can see it as they're leaving Charlotte from miles away already. So, without further ado, here's the night shots!
Going to be completely amazing and can't wait to bring you everything live from the media day event on March 25th! (3/25...get it?). So, until then be sure to follow us on Twitter, Google+, Tumblr and Facebook for all the latest out of Carowinds and their newest, world record breaking coaster, Fury 325!
